Marie in front of Uluru (Ayers Rock) - December 2001 (This is
actually the side of the Rock).

Uluru (Ayers Rock) - December 2001

We flew out of Ayers Rock Airport on our way to Cairns in a
BAE146. Managed to get one last snap of the Rock.

Marie in front of the Sydney Harbour Bridge (which was real hazy
due to the Bush Fires) - December 2001

The Blue Mountains on fire as seen from around 20k feet up in a
Plane on the way in to Sydney Airport (Sydney is off the shot to
the right - e.g. under all that smoke) - December 2001

The bush fires from a place called Sussex Inlet - December 2001

The Bush Fires at Sussex Inlet Again - arty shot - December 2001

Some strange looking creatures (Alpacas) spotted whilst driving
from Sydney to Melbourne - December 2001

The obligatory photo of the Opera House from a boat - December
2001

Another shot of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House - December 2001
- We were disappointed not to be able to do the Bridge Climb
(it was shut so they could put the New Years Eve fireworks up - oh
well.... next time). Update:
Did that - Click
Here :-)

We flew out to (and landed in the middle of) the Great Barrier
Reef in this little De'Havilland seaplane and went snorkling - Fantastic experience -
December 2001

Marie and the Seaplane (and the Pilot).

The Reef looks unreal from the air.

Heart Reef. Wonder why they call it that ;-)

There were some great views flying over the Whitsunday Islands.

Nice Beach. Probably shark infested though.

Whitsundays.

The pilot was a perfectionist so I knew the landing would be
smooth.

Yep - Smooooth landing.

A Wildlife Park near Harvey Bay. Marie loved the baby
wombat.

Not overly keen on the kangaroos though.

And as for the Emus - vicious buggers!!

The view from our room in the Holiday Inn in Townsville.
