PHOTOS: America --> 1997

Approximate route taken. Took 3 weeks driving near on 250
miles a day.

Phil and Marie in the Rocky Mountains.

Phil, Nicky and Marie Strutting their stuff for the Camera in the
Rockies.

Phil and Marie in Evergreen Colorado.

Middle America. The white line in the middle is the one!

Admiring the view in the Rockies.

An excited lass!! (in the rockies!)

Marie in a place called Castle Vale - Typical American
Scenery - Nice!!

Marie in Monument Valley.

If there is only one place you ever visit in the USA - make it
Arches National Park - Unreal place!! Take lots of water
though as it is really, really hot (most of the time). Note: The
arch isn't just above my head - it is way in the distance and
those are trees under it
Hence - it is a rather large arch (largest in the world in fact).

Monument Valley -
Sometimes the roads ARE as long and straight as they look in the
movies! Nice!

Vermillion Cliffs / Marble Canyon August 1997 - That's Marie under
the precariously balanced rocks. Really Odd Place - Eerie!.
There were huts built into the side of some of the rocks with
carvings inside like "XXX was here 1880" - Most eerie.

Lake Powell - One of the most amazing, scenic places I have ever
been to. Basically it is part of the Grand Canyon filled
with water
(It was created by the Glen Canyon Dam). Fantastic place, if
you ever get a chance - go there. Aug 1997

Lake Powell - Aug 1997

Grand Canyon looks pretty cool from the air (not sure what the
light is in the distance though!!). I actually hadn't realised that it was
so green - always thought it would be really red !?!?!?!?
Live and learn!

Zion National Park - Extremely underrated place!.

Zion National Park -
A place of extraordinary beauty.
Contrasting with.....................
Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Las Vegas -
One of the most odd places I have ever come across!
I was sooooo annoyed that we didn't have time to go up the stratosphere
though!!!! Next Time!

Las Vegas -
I must admit though - the luxor was a pretty cool building!!

Death Valley!!!!! We almost ran out of Petrol as the valley
had a power cut at the time - not a good idea in a place that
feels as though someone is holding a giant hair dryer pointed at
you.

Death Valley Moonscape.

At the border!!

A Waterfall in Yosemite National Park - Who said I couldn't walk
on water. This pool was actually at the top of the main
waterfall.

A Waterfall in Yosemite National Park - There were nudists
swimming here just before I decided to take a dip. It was
freezing.

Yosemite National Park - Ellery Lake
